Kate MacDonald

Kate MacDonald is a Vancouver-based multidisciplinary artist working in painting, digital collage, video and public art. Since beginning her digital collage practice in 2010, she has created surreal environments exploring redemption, grace, metamorphosis and the uneasy coexistence of beauty and dread. Her work frequently combines landscape, vegetation, animals, architecture and discarded materials, blurring distinctions between natural and constructed worlds. MacDonald received LACDA Top Ten Digital Artist awards in 2012, 2017 and 2024, and her work has appeared in Wired and international editions of GQ.She has maintained a studio in Vancouver’s historic port district since 2013 where she shares a studio and collaborates with artist Leslie Sears as K8L35.
